The blood-flag was the crucifix of Hitlers religion.  It would come to symbolise his new reign.  In 1933 Hitler succeeded in becoming the Fuhrer.  The leader.  A title that would come to resonate with religious connotations of the Anointed One.  The Messiah.  Adolf Hitlers time has come.  Nazis: The Occult Conspiracy, Discovery 1998

The fact that the flag flaps on the moon where there is no atmosphere means that there must have been a little blast of wind over in Area 51 where they shot this.  Bill Kaysing

I made the flags and targets to open men’s eyes.  Jasper Johns

It all began with my painting a picture of an American flag.  Using this design took care of a great deal for me because I didn’t have to design it.  So I went on to similar things like the targets  things the mind already knows.  That gave me room to work on other levels.  For instance, I’ve always thought of a painting as a surface; painting it in one colour made this very clear ... A picture ought to be looked at the same way you look at a radiator.  Jasper Johns

My primary concern is visual form.  The visual meaning may be discovered afterwards – by those who look for it.  Two meanings have been ascribed to these American Flag paintings of mine.  One position is: ‘He’s painted a flag so you don’t have to think of it as a flag but only as a painting’.  The other is: ‘You are enabled by the way he has painted it to see it as a flag and not as a painting’.  Actually both positions are implicit in the paintings, so you don’t have to choose.  Jasper Johns

Yes, the flag is more than death.  Hitler Youth song lyrics

If anything’s going to happen in this country to turn it around, we’re going to need a renaissance – an intellectual spiritual renaissance.  Because you can’t do it with arms ... I’m ashamed of this country and I’m ashamed of the people who call themselves Americans who drive around with a damn silly arse flag on their car, and not even realise it’s not an American flag ... Put a flag on your car and drive around like a fool.  Jordan Maxwell, lecture The Illuminati

The English are suffering an identity crisis.  Just look at the national flag ... But there are others with their own idea about English who also use it.  Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch, How God Made The English III: A White and Christian People? BBC 2012

I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.  Craig Washington

The Cross of St George stood for Aquitaine, not England.  Simon Schama, A History of Britain: Dynasty, BBC 2000

There is the national flag.  He must be cold, indeed, who can look upon its folds rippling in the breeze without pride of country.  Charles Sumner

American Flag Propagates Violence.  7 Days in September, message scrawled on New York pavement, 2002

Never was isle so littler, never was sea so lone,

But over the scud and the palm-trees an English flag was flown.  Rudyard Kipling, English Flag

I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink.  It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom.  It is the history of our nation, and it’s marked by the blood of those who died defending it.  John Thune

There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.  Howard Zinn

Raising the flag and singing the anthem are, while somewhat suspicious, not in themselves acts of treason.  Terry Pratchett, Night Watch

We are the lavishest and showiest and most luxury-loving people on the earth; and at our masthead we fly one true and honest symbol, the gaudiest flag the world has ever seen.  Mark Twain

I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Saviour, for whose Kingdom it stands, one Saviour, crucified, risen, and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe.  Dan Quayle

I also wish that the Pledge of Allegiance were directed at the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as it is when the President takes his oath of office, rather than to the flag and the nation.  Carl Sagan

A moth-eaten rag on a worm-eaten pole,

It does not look likely to stir a man’s Soul,

’Tis the deeds that were done ’neath the moth-eaten rag,

When the pole was a staff, and the rag was a flag.  Edward Hamley on seeing some old Colours of 32nd Foot in Monmouth Church

Under the sooty flag of Acheron,

Harpies and Hydras.  John Milton, Comus l604, 1637

The imperial ensign; which, full high advanced,

Shone like a meteor streaming to the wind.  John Milton, Paradise Lost I:536

Under spreading ensigns moving nigh, in slow

But firm battalion.  ibid.  VI:533

‘Shoot, if you must, this old grey head,

But spare your country’s flag,’ she said.  Barbara Fritchie, 1863

South Carolina, as a matter of compromise, displays the Confederate flag on a flagpole in front of the state capitol.  Because I grew up in the South and believe that the Confederate flag is a very divisive symbol, I have stated publicly a number of times that I believe that South Carolina should remove the flag from the state capitol grounds.  John Edwards

The spiritual master and head of state in Tibet is the Dalai Lama ... Even though the Dalai Lama is a man of peace, he speaks good English and is recognised for his statesmanship.  He was refused an audience with Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain.  However, the British Royal Family who have members that are active Freemasons greeted the leader of the murdering Communist Chinese government with a full state ceremony.  Chris Everard, Illuminati II

The Free Tibet campaign is a worldwide movement of volunteers who wish to highlight the illegal killings and imprisonment of Tibetan people.  The Free Tibet campaign displayed flags during the state visit of the Chinese premier in London.  The Free Tibet flags were confiscated by British police officers.  The peaceful protesters were often arrested and dragged away for no apparent reason; some were even assaulted and beaten by British police officers.  ibid.

We are going into Iraq to liberate and not to conquer.  We will not fly our flags in their country.  Colonel Tim Collins

The fact that we've been a great democracy doesn’t mean we will automatically keep being one if we keep waving the flag.  Norman Mailer

Patriotism has become a mere national self-assertion, a sentimentality of flag-cheering with no constructive duties.  H G Wells, Future in America

Everybody saw that damn picture and made up their own story about it.  Flags of Our Fathers 2006 starring Ryan Phillippe & Jesse Bradford & Adam Beach & John Benjamin Hickey & Paul Walker & John Slettery & Barry Pepper & Jamie Bell & Robert Patrick & Neal McDonough et al, director Clint Eastwood

My Fuhrer, around you stand the flags and standards of this National Socialism.  Only when they are threadbare will the people be able to understand by hindsight the greatness of our time.  Rudolph Hess, Triumph of the Will, 1935
