Florida State University, Tallahassee, January 15th 1978: around 2.45 a.m. a serial killer on the run broke into the Chi Omega Sorority house and attacked four women. The blistering attack on all four students lasted just fifteen minutes. In just four years in the mid 1970s a sadistic killer kidnapped, raped and murdered at least 30 women. It was the most gruesome serial killing spree in Australian history. On May 20, 1999, the mummified remains of eight victims were found in barrels of hydrochloric acid inside a former bank in Snowtown, a tiny village in South Australia about 150 kilometers north of Adelaide with a population of around 500. When the bank vault was opened, a stomach-turning stench was released.
