★ Demon

[And the demon said] we shall lead astray the inhabited world for a long season, until the Son of God is stretched upon the cross.  Testament of Solomon 65

 

 

But the Spirit saith expressly, that in latter times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.  I Timothy 4:1

The manner of the cure was this: he put a ring, one of those sorts mentioned by Solomon, to the nostrils of the demoniac after which he drew out the demon.  Josephus Flavius, Antiquities of the Jews VIII.44

 

 

It was known and understood that Solomon was the archetypal expeller of demons.  The great exorcist as it were.  Kenneth Hanson, author Secrets of the Lost Bible

 

 

The Abramelin dates back to the fourteenth century.  The aim of the six-month ritual is to master demons.  But it was considered extremely dangerous.  If the ritual went wrong, it was believed evil spirits could be set loose and take possession of the magician.  Aleister Crowley  Wickedest Man in the World?
