Norway, 2016: The country’s largest national newspaper, VG, exposes 11 cases of child sexual abuse in Tysfjord, a small community just north of the artic circule. A police investigation later uncovers 151 more cases in a population of just 2,000 people. The abuse had spanned decades and mainly affected the Sami, the indigenous people of Northern Europe. In Tysfjord, the population is divided by a 900m fjord, with the Sami people living on one side and the Norwegian run authorities on the other. Storyville: Beneath theV Surface, BBC 2022
